Testimonials 2010

Dear Marketa,

We would like to thank you for all your help and support during our stay.

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities we’ve ever been to. And we really enjoyed living the city not just visiting it. Which wasn’t going to be possible without your suggestions and tours that made our stay comfortable and really fun.

Despite the fact that the weather was really cold (I mean reallyyyyyy cold) there was still something warm and cozy in this city. It was one in our "places to visit" list but even after that trip we couldn't remove it.

Thanks again for the amazing tours and the tons of information.

Best Regards,

......Marketa showed an incredible depth of knowledge and the good judgement to decide what was important to share in our time together.  From the 9th century to the day before yesterday history and it's effect on Western Civilization were presented to us in a wonderful lively fashion.  Her personal insights into historical characters brought them to life.  As a small group, two, she assessed our interest and showed us things we could relate to.  Seeing, learning, experiencing much more in a short period of time, but never a rush.  She invited us to ask questions and answered all even to the extent of e-mail after our tour was long over. Responding to our queries quickly and comprehensively.  We noticed tours of twenty and thirty people trudging around like cattle and wondered how they could really get anything special out of the time they were spending.  We felt very lucky to have the personal service, feeling superb value for the cost.  Marketa's tour was by far the best bargain of the trip.  We give her our unconditional highest recommendation.  Additionally, we were provided with a good deal of practical information about how to navigate the city, find any and all items we desired and discover contemporary Prague.  For this and so much more we are feeling extremely lucky to have had the joy of experiencing some of the key parts of Prague with Marketa.  Thank you for making our 2010 holiday season a very special time!

Yours truly,
Ms. Billy Brenkley and

Testimonials 2010

Imagine yourself in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You have limited time. You want more than a fleeting view of the most popular sites. You want to immerse yourself into the the cultural and culinary heart of the city. You want to feel the sense of history you've read about. If it's Prague, then you want to contact "Caput Regni - Private tours of Prague". Whether you are traveling with a group or alone, Marketa can design a tour for you from an informal walk to a highly intellectual discussion of the forces of history affecting any landmark in Prague. Marketa is knowledgeable, professional, and communicates an excitement about the city that is infectious. I arranged two days of tours with Marketa by email before I arrived in Prague in May, 2010. She accommodated my schedule and the list of things I wanted to do and see. Her depth of knowledge about historical, religious and cultural forces that made Prague what it is today was refreshingly sound. I found Marketa to be punctual, reliable and an amazing resource for the curious traveler. The cost of her services was money well spent. Marketa cares about providing you with an excellent touring experience. And it is obvious that Marketa cares about Prague.

Testimonials 2010

I can't imagine what our visit to Prague would have been like without Marketa! The city is beautiful beyond any expectation and all you want to do is ask "what's the history behind this?" everywhere you go. Marketa is so knowledgeable about Prague's rich history. From the architecture styles to the paintings to the sculptures to Prague legends, she unveiled a city that seems unparalleled in so many ways.
Marketa was so easy going and friendly. Marketa took us on popular routes, but then also took us off the beaten path to see parts of the city we would've never experienced had it not been for her expertise. She crammed a full day of touring into 3 hours, and still managed to help us figure out the tram and metro. We were so confident touring the city the days that followed our tour with Marketa. We felt comfortable on public transportation, and we felt comfortable perusing the cobblestone streets of Castle Area, Lesser Area, Old Town, and then New Town for shopping.
I cannot wait to visit Prague again. And Marketa, I will definitely contact you for a personal tour of the Cubism Museum. You really just can't get it all done in 5 days in Prague. The eye can wander and find beauty for days and days; it's just endless.

I recommend Marketa to anyone going to Prague and wanting to travel comfortably like a local, but see and learn about this incredible city through the eyes of a traveler.

Thanks Maya for an interesting tour! We had a long correspondence regarding the itinerary of the tour beforehand as I wanted to see a glimpse of old industrial Prague as well as the Zizkov Memorial.
I saw such sights of Prague that I hadn´t seen in my previous trips and they were situated so close to the historical center! The tour was crowned with pints of molten Pilsener gold (yes Gambrinus allright!) in a local pub "At the Shot-Out Eye". I´m really happy I took the tour with you, it was worth every Crown!

Testimonials 2010

Dear Marketa,
Thank you for making Prague come alive for us!  We feel so fortunate to have found you and to have seen Prague through your eyes.  You are a treasure, for sure!
Now to the specifics: The best gift we gave ourselves in Prague was the gift of your time.  From the beginning, your knowledge of the city and its history was astounding, and your passion for the history made it all come alive for us!  We took four tours with you:  An overview of the city, a tour of the Jewish Quarter, a tour of the castle and its environs, and a tour of Ziskov.  We could have doubled that number easily and still have had things to learn from you about this spellbinding city.  Your knowledge astounds us, your flawless English humbled us!
Thank you for all of the stories, the rich tapestry of detail, the funny side-lights --everything you brought to our tours.  Thank you for the recommendations for dinner, the guidance in getting around, the warmth of your welcome, the challenge of your questions.  Without these, and so many more aspects to these tours, we would have been tired and lonely tourists, with our noses stuck in a guidebook, hoping not to make too many mistakes and wondering what we were missing.

Anyone who misses your magical tours leaves Prague the poorer for it.  We left Prague all the richer for having met you.
Many, many best wishes for your success!

Hi Marketa,
Thanks for a wonderful and insightful tour of your great city of Prague.  It was nice that we could walk and take trolleys anywhere we wanted to go.  I enjoyed learning about the history of Prague. Having a one on one tour was just so much more pleasurable than being stuck in a giant group tour and not being able to ask questions.  It was interesting to me also the things we had in common such as some of the same dishes we eat.  The authentic Czech restaurant you recommended was great. I enjoyed it so much my boyfriend surprised me with a Czech cookbook when he went on a walk to Starbucks, he hit the bookstore on the same block! Thanks again for making my trip memorable and learning not only about the history but about Czech culture and life as well.

Sincerely,
Pamela Chesser
